"The Soul of the Movement" This series is dedicated to the incredible men and women of color who have made history with their truth and transparency. (I am taking commissioned work right now as well)
So all the ladies know, being a woman is hard enough, but being a woman of color is a whole other battle that I cannot even describe because I have not lived it. At an attempt to capture the essence that is the black woman, I got lost in the colors and beauty that laid upon the canvas. As for the men, persecuted every day for their skin, I hope to capture them in a different light. They too are the beacons of change. Their voices combined, are the voices for the silent, for the unheard. Not because they aren't speaking, but because we refuse to listen. They are a start to a larger project, one that I hope opens the eyes of all the people they cross paths with. It is time that we put a deeper value to the roots of civilization, The Creators.
If theres anything I hope for the most, its that my works of art can be hung proudly in a house that respects the culture, loves the brothers and sisters, and fights for the cause.
